Carbon Poker Affiliate Program

Summary
Carbon Poker is a relatively new room on the Merge Poker network, which is a small to medium sized network when it comes to player traffic in the online poker industry. Carbon Poker is essentially the focus of what used to be the Poker.com poker room, which has now simply become a poker portal referring players to other rooms, rather than playing host to their own.
Overall, the Carbon affiliate program offers a fantastic backend, support and commission, but can be let down by the fact that conversions are slightly lower than that of other online poker rooms. This is mainly due to the fact that the room isn’t the biggest in the industry, and so can suffer from a lack of traffic at times. Furthermore, the room is quite freeroll orientated, and attracts players with little or no money to play with at the tables.
However, if you can manage to drive a decent number of players to Carbon Poker it is more than possible for you to make a solid amount of money from this affiliate program.

Commission
Carbon Poker offers a straight 40% revenue share, which is one of the highest in the industry.
Carbon also offers a tiered CPA plan depending on how many players you can send, along with a tiered hybrid deal that incorporates both a CPA and a MGR deal. However, these must be negotiated with the room, as there are no guidelines available for such deals at the moment.
Conversions
The main let down of the Carbon Poker affiliate program is that its conversion rate is generally lower than the conversion rates of other poker rooms. Furthermore, players that do convert are more likely to make small deposits and play at the smaller stakes tables than they are at other rooms.
This is likely due to the fact that it can be tricky for US players to sign up, even though the room accepts US customers. Because US players have to go a little out of their way to sign up and make a deposit, they seem to rather just knock Carbon Poker on the head and try another room that makes it easier to sign up and play at.
The small stakes players can be explained by the fact that the room does not receive a large amount of traffic, and so the players that do deposit may sometimes be confined to the lower stakes. However, there is still the potential to make a sizeable amount of money from the Carbon Poker affiliate program if you have the right strategy.
Some affiliates have great success promoting Carbon Poker, and so combined with the 40% revenue share they manage to make a very nice amount of money. I believe the key to success with the Carbon affiliate program is to send a large amount of players to the room, and to not overly focus on the fact they accept US players, and instead try and bring in players from outside the US. If you can make it work, you can make a nice sum of money from this program.
Backend
Carbon Poker has one of my favourite backends of any poker affiliate program. The program offers all of the standard stats that you should expect from any affiliate program, but the best part is the well structured stats and information that help you to quickly see how well your promotions are doing.
When you log into the affiliate program, you are greeted with a useful graph that displays how much you have been earning within the last few days. This is useful as a quick reference to see how your earnings are building up, or to see how your earnings differ from one day to another. However, if you want to see more detailed information on your clicks and signups, you can slick on the statistics tab where you will be taken to a very well-laid out table displaying all of the key information on your referrals.
You can also find a great range of Marketing Tools such as banners and text links in the backend, which have been very well designed and help to catch the attention of visitors more so than other standard web banners.
Support
Along with the great backend provided by Carbon, the support you receive from the Affiliate Managers is one of the highlights of the affiliate program as a whole. Many affiliates are always very happy with their contacts at the affiliate program, as they are the type of AMs that are always happy to go out of their way to help you out however they can. This is what makes Carbon Poker a very good affiliate program to work with and allows you to build a good working relationship between yourself and the room.
Additional Notes
Carbon Poker offers a great number of freerolls throughout the day, which attracts the players that have small bankrolls or are uncomfortable with making regular deposits to the room. However, this means that these referred players are likely to simply be freeroll whores, and not generate vast amounts of rake.
